established the Witchford Village College
Traveller Youth Group in 1994 for young Gypsy, Romany & Travellers to develop social & informal educational programmes to promote inclusion for Travellers into Witchford College and local communites.
Over the years the Traveller Youth Group have won numerous awards, including the Aminco Rom International Literacy Awards several years running.
Members of the group have visited Italy, France, Poland and New York to display their work to Romanies and practitioners from around the world.
2012/13 the Traveller Youth Group are undertaking a skills development project horse riding at the Old Stables riding school in Soham....
Phase 2 of this project will see the group attend the Gauntlet Auto project at Ramsey.
The 'GOBB' (Group of Boys Boxing) programme was established in January 2008 and targeted at males aged 13-16 who were on the verge of suspension or exclusion from Witchford Villege College. The 10-week, curriculum-time programme allows young people to take part in boxing sessions at the same time as working towards worthwhile, accredited schemes such as the Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA), Duke of Edinburgh and Arts Award.
2011/12 the Traveller Youth Group undertook a huge Heritage project to examine changes taking place in their community and the attitudes towards it from the wider public, government
and organisations.

In May 2010 The Travellers Youth Club were joined by facilitator Andy Rutterford from Littleport Leisure from the Community Development Team at Little Downham to spend the afternoon learning how to fish. Some members of the group had never tried fishing before and 16 year old Lucy Lamb caught a 7.1gr stickle back which turned out to be the biggest fish of its kind seen in the 90's!! The fish is usually the size of a 5p coin and Tom Legge who was extremley impressed with the catch contacted a local Fishing magazine 'Anglers Mail' created a 2 page spread about the group and the fish in their magazine.
An international exchange programme
was set up with an under 19s team in
New York City in collaboration with the
British Olympic Association, Amateur
Boxing Association of England and
the US Boxing Association.
Through the programme a range of
partners from local government, parish
councils, community organisations, the
voluntary sector and private sector has
secured external funding, with sources
including Awards for All, Sport England, Sporting Equals and the Department of Health Funding.
Partners included, Witchford Village College, East Cambridgeshire District Council, NACRO and Can Do Communites.
The All Comers ABA Boxing club has also seen success at performance level, with six of its under-19s competing in national and international competition. Four divisional and regional titles were snapped up by the club's members within the first six months of All Comers' existence.
